Location
The Saros Development offers luxury living in an idyllic location that is easily accessible by air and onwards by road, with a variety of fascinating towns, local beauty spots and cultural activities close by.
The development is situated in the beautiful coastal resort of Calis Beach , South West Turkey. All 15 luxury apartments offer a view that is picture perfect - the arc of sand and shingle beach is framed by mountains on either side, in between which the famous turquoise water extends to the horizon. The apartments are bespoke designed for people of all ages to enjoy the very greatest convenience. There is a central lift - a welcome change for developments in the area - allowing residents to move quickly between their apartments and the pool and barbeque area, and beyond to the beach, only 50 metres away.
Calis itself is a small town of considerable charm, with a number of beachfront restaurants offering views across the bay. Nightlife is quiet but live music and even belly dancing have been known to take place. The flat land makes it extremely easy to get around, particularly for those with wheelchairs or pushchairs. Calis beach is popular with the local turtles, many of which come to lay their eggs in the sand. It is also famous for some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world.
A half-hour walk or 5-minute drive takes you to nearby Fethiye - or you may prefer to take the 15-minute water taxi ride, enjoying the cool sea breeze on the way. Often described as the birthplace of civilisation, Fethiye is rich in Lycian and Roman remains, many of which have escaped the clutches of tourism. The town neatly balances the attractions of a bustling resort with a working regional centre. There's a range of shops, cafes and restaurants, several good beaches and some of the best sailing to be found anywhere in the world. In fact, no visit is complete without the 12 island tour - you can sail around each island in the bay, with stops for lunch and drinks.
In the hills and cliffs overlooking Fethiye you can find a series of tombs used to bury the dead as far back as 400 BC - the higher a person was buried, the closer to God they were thought to be! Moving further upwards, Mount Babadag offers the more adventurous a variety of sky sports, including paragliding. Back on solid ground, a 20-minute drive out of Fethiye takes you to the deserted rock village of Kaya Koyu , where you'll find fascinating historic remains of relations between the Turks and the Greeks. Residents of the Saros Development can take their time exploring the area further, taking in the towns of Gocek , where there are four superb marinas one of which is being developed, and Olu Deniz which offers more beautiful beaches and a blue lagoon.
